Designer / Bronsin Ablon

Bronsin Ablon earned a Bachelor’s of Industrial Design with Highest Honors from Pratt Institute in 2016. Out of school Bronsin worked for design powerhouse Yabu Pushelberg for three years and then quintessential New York City architecture and interior design firm, Workshop APD. During his time at YP, Bronsin designed hundreds of furniture, lighting, and hardware concepts for residential and hospitality projects around the globe. Bronsin led the furniture design process for multiple guest rooms, restaurants, and turnkey suites, in addition to working on team based product licensing initiatives. During his time at Workshop APD Bronsin developed custom products for high-end residential & hospitality projects. Bronsin designed in-house furniture lines and products for license, most notably the Picnic Collection, a family of seven graphic wool and silk carpets sold by renowned dealer Warp & Weft in New York.

In 2019 Bronsin started a small 350 square foot wood shop in Brooklyn, exploring the idea that experimentation leads to creative success. Bronsin used this space to push his personal furniture design forward, challenging the definition of stereotypical modern design.

In 2020 the part time studio transformed into the full time fabrication and design consultancy known as Work At Hand. In 2021 Work At Hand moved into a 1000 square foot space in BLDG 77 of the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Work At Hand produces a small catalog of works in wood including stools, benches, chairs, tables, case goods, and accessories. The studio takes on custom builds for high-end residential & hospitality clients across New York City and beyond, with occasional contract design work for boutique interior designers in need of custom design services.

Since the studio’s start Bronsin participated in Brooklyn Designs 2019, Sight unseen Online 2020, and Wanted Design 2020 online. In 2021 Bronsin showed collaborative work at Wanted Design Launch Pad at the Javits Center in Manhattan, and personal and collaborative work at The Current Show in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
In 2022, to date, Bronsin will have worked featured in SightUnseen's Yearbook 2021 publication, launch new lighting in ON, presented by HeadHi, and launch his Alloy Collection of indoor/outdoor tables at WantedDesign Launchpad 2022.

Bronsin believes that handmade and thoughtful design should last generations to come. It is his goal to market products to high-end boutique interior designers and design interested individuals. This design values quality over quantity for an investment in a better aesthetic world.
